Andrew Carnegie
Andrew Carnegie was Scottish immigrant who made his money in the steel company. He was "Captain of the Steel Industry". He was born in 1835 in Dunfermline, Scotland on November 25. As a child, Carnegie's life was tough and they didn't have enough money to live. So, Carnegie and his family immigrated to the United States in 1848. When arriving to the U.S., Carnegie was involved in many things. First he entered the telegraph business, then the railroad business, got involved in the civil war and investments, and finally realized that he was going to start a steel company. Andrew Carnegie and his brother Tom opened up their first steel plant in 1874. Pretty soon, more and more people needed steel, so Carnegie's business grew bigger and bigger. He drove out his competitors with low prices and became one of the richest men in the world too.
